Did we really do this three times? I know that two of them were trunk-or-treat (as opposed to trick-or-treat), but oh my! We have more candy than we know what to do with. Miriam was so excited to get to wear her costume one more time. I think the multiple celebrations of Halloween confused her. When I told her that today was really Halloween she said, "again?" She didn't complain when she realized that meant more candy. It is so fun having kids that actually understand the holidays. They have so much excitement for every little thing. It sure makes me excited for Christmas... yes I just said that.

Trunk-or-Treat (round two)
Last night was the Halloween party for our ward. Miriam was excited to go and see all her friends (as you can imagine every three year old girl dressed up as a princess). Even though it was snowing I think we had a great turn out. We ended up trick-or-treating from classroom to classroom inside the building.

Soaking It Up
We are trying to make the best of the last of the warmer weather. We know that winter will be here before we know it. I took the kids out to the park. It surprises me how much more brave Miriam gets each time we go. She is becoming so independent. Since we had access to a car we decided to go over to a different park. Miriam climbed up to the tallest slide all by herself. We, of course, spent a lot of time on the swings (oddly I don't have any pictures of the swings). I think that kids had a great time.

All Boy
Simon is learning how to throw. He has started the game of "I will throw my toys on the floor and see how many times you will pick them up".
Simon is definitely is all boy and plays rough. Miriam likes to play with him on the floor and he just laughs with her. Sometimes I worry she isn't being careful, but most of the time he doesn't seem to mind.

Trunk-or-Treat (round one)
Since Michael was out of town this weekend I decided to take the kids over to his parents ward Halloween party. Who can't use extra candy for their kids? Miriam was just excited to get to wear her witch princess costume.
Miriam is excited to attend our ward Halloween party this weekend with her friends. She is happy that Dad won't miss this time. Any chance to be a princess and she will take it.

Impromptu Parade
Friday was the Homecoming parade for the high school Michael attended. We decided at the last minute to go over and watch since it was right by Michael's parents house. Miriam wasn't sure where we were going, but was excited to see Grandma. I ended up getting some really cute pictures of the kids. Miriam is turning into such a ham in front of the camera.
I sure wasn't expecting to come away with so much loot. It didn't take Miriam long to figure out waving at everyone meant they would throw her candy. It sure pays to be cute. We didn't end up staying for the football game... maybe next year.
Waiting for the parade.
The parade is finally starting.

Indian Summer
We decided to take advantage of this beautiful weekend by going to pick apples at Crooked Run Orchard. I have never picked apples before, so I was excited to go out to the orchard and get them right off the tree. Miriam thought it was pretty neat to help pick apples with Grandpa's help. She wanted to carry the bucket (until it had apples in it, then she decided it was too heavy). Simon seemed to know the apples were for eating and tried to put them in his mouth multiple times. Michael had a fun time trying to find the best ones. We ended up with some Braeburn and Mutsu apples. I can't wait to make applesauce and apple crisp.
