four squared*

*In celebration of graduation I decided to name this post using mathematical language.*

Miriam is sixteen months old today. The poor thing had to spend the day at graduation for my sister, Ashley, and then at her daddy's graduation. She had a long tiring day, but we think she did a great job.

Over the past month Miriam learned to walk. We can't believe how fast she has grown. She also continues to increase her vocabulary daily. We are amazed at how much she knows.

Here is a list of the words she can say:

Dad
Mom
Miriam
Camel
Book
Ball
Diaper
Beep
Nigh' Night
Bread
Boo
Bye
Bus
Bib
Yes
More
Whoa
One

Here is a list of the signs she knows:

More
Please
Bath
Thank You
Eat
Drink
Milk
Daddy
Help
Ball
Book
Bye
Friend
Love
Water
Blanket
Hungry
Sleep
Wash
Mommy

Just Because

I took Miriam out to take some pictures today. It is the last nice day in the forecast this week, so I thought we would go out and have a photo shoot. It wasn't 100% successful, but I got a couple of cute shots. It has been a whole lot harder to take pictures of her now that she can run away.

We also have a free trial of some photo editing software I thought I would try out. I am not super computer savvy, but I like some of the effects. I found a couple of pictures spots around town that were suggested on some photography blogs.

After all was said and done, I took her to play at the park. I took her to a different park and I was a bit disappointed because there wasn't much she could do by herself. It was geared more for older kids. She must have had fun because she didn't want to leave.

happenings of the day

drum roll please... Michael took his last final exam as a college student. All he has to do is turn in a completed project on Wednesday and then GRADUATION here we come. We are excited to celebrate next weekend with family and friends. (as a side note i am extremely bummed about the weather forecast. we have had beautiful weather, 70 degrees and sunny, for about 3-4 days and it is supposed to last 2-3 more days. as soon as graduation comes it is going to drop to 55 degrees and rain is in the forecast for the next week. what is up with this?)

I was so excited about dinner tonight. Hot house cucumbers were on sale and so I figured we would make a nice Greek salad with some chicken. Michael lived in Greece for about 2 years when he was very little and so his family loves Greek food, which is something I do not mind one bit. It is all very delicious.
(Mom Bishop stop reading now and pick up at the next paragraph.) As we sat down to eat Michael stopped for a minute and then asked, "Did you get any feta?". What? Feta? AHHHH!!! I forgot to buy the feta cheese. Then Michael says, "Feta is probably my favorite part of Greek salad". FAILURE!

Tonight we decided to cut Miriam's hair. The back of her hair has never been trimmed and so it was starting to look mullet-ish. I trimmed up the back to even it all out from her bald spot growing back in. It looks much better and I wish I would have remembered to take pictures.

We have a toddler on our hands

A couple of weeks ago I posted about Miriam starting to walk. I should have just saved it because the past two weeks she has really taken off. It took her a little while to figure it out, but now she definitely has the hang of it. She is really proud of herself and it makes me so happy to see her learning new things.

We are excited to have a little toddler in the house.

Early Graduation Celebration

We went to Tucanos this weekend with some friends. It was our last get-together with some of them. As more of our friends graduate and move, we are grateful for all the memories we have made here. We are excited for everyone (including us) to move into the next phase of life. Here are some pictures from the day.

While Miriam waited she was peeking inside at some other kids

Our Little Family

We had a great Easter weekend. We were able to spend time with my family. We enjoyed watching General Conference and hearing the words of the prophet. We are extremely blessed and are grateful for the chance to remember our Savior this day.

Easter Fun

Miriam got to color eggs with Devon. She put out her Easter basket for the Easter Bunny to bring her goodies. Luckily he brought her favorite treat, Smarties! She also got new sunglasses and a little people bus. It was too cold for an Easter egg hunt this year.
