We are off to the hospital...

Just Waiting

Waiting for a baby to arrive is hard work. We spend most days just hanging out and doing what we can to prepare. Little by little I feel like the house is ready for a newborn. Remember my list from a while ago?
(NESTING)
Need to Finish:
*Buy diapers (small size) - on sale at Costco this week
*Sew flannel blankets and burp cloths - material is washed and ready
*Decide on blessing outfit (I have until July)
*Finish finding summer clothes for baby and Miriam - some great deals have been found already

We have diapers, I finished the blankets and burp cloths, I bought a few more summer clothes, and I am waiting to discuss the blessing outfit until my mom comes. Now all I really want to do is make sure the house is cleaned. I was telling Michael last night that I feel like each day just comes and goes and I don't do much. This is probably because I really only have energy to get things done in the morning. I do about one thing a day and then I am done. For example, today was laundry. I did three loads and then I was too tired to do anything else. The rest of the day is spent playing with Miriam and resting. However, I am really enjoying this time with Miriam. We have fun playing together. We basically just do what she wants. We also talk about what is going to happen when baby boy comes. She is going to be a great big sister.

Nesting

I have definitely felt the need to get ready for this baby. I hate waiting until the last minute. For the past few months I have been on the lookout for as many deals as possible. Since we started with absolutely no boy things I knew we would have a lot of stuff to get. I also wanted to get Miriam's winter clothes for next year. I find it so satisfying to find a great deal on the clearance rack. I feel like after the shopping trips I had this week I am ready for this baby boy to come. I am not done with everything, but I have enough done for him to arrive. I have 39 days until my due date. I want to be done with everything by the end of this month. Here is my list.

Accomplished:

Gowns and sleepers - washed, folded and put away

0-3 months clothes - washed, folded and put away

Onesies - washed, folded and put away

*Socks/Bibs/Hats - washed, folded and put away
*Shop for next years winter clothes for baby and Miriam
*Reposition crib to new height

Stock up on wipes

*Find all baby things that I stored away

Overall I feel good about finishing before long. Since my energy level is dropping everyday, I will just do a little bit at a time. I love getting ready for a baby to come into our home. We are so excited to meet this little (big) guy.

A Big Surprise (for you)

We are so excited to be adding to our family in April. I am already 20 weeks (half-way there) along. We wanted to hold off telling our family and friends until we knew the gender of the baby. Now that we know, do you want to know too?

Baby Fun

I have been doing a little bit of shopping in preparation for our new arrival. I have been on the lookout for good deals on clothes. We have purchased diapers and wipes. I have now promised Michael that I am done shopping until after the baby shower. Our most recent big purchase was our new stroller/car seat travel system. I asked Michael right away to get it out and put it together. I was too excited. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of Michael's effort. I think they turned out great!

Daddy's Little Girl

The other day I came home with this cute little outfit. I put it on Michael's pillow and waited to see his reaction. It is the only thing I have bought for our baby. I am trying to melt Michael's heart. Do you think it is working?

Ultrasound Results

We had our ultrasound yesterday. We are very excited. We are having a girl!!! We are so happy to know what we are having. We are excited to start preparing for the baby. We are excited to start shopping and thinking of baby names. A little girl is coming our way.

Baby Poll

I decided to start a poll. People keep saying either, "It's a girl" or "It's a boy". I just want to know what everybody thinks.

Waiting Patiently (or at least trying)

So, I went to another doctor appointment this week. Everything looks great. I was hoping to be able to find out by the middle of July the gender of our little one. The doctor says to wait until I am 20 weeks. So I have to wait until my next appointment. We will find out on August 4th what our little bundle of joy will be. Now that I am feeling better, I am getting really excited to find out. I am ready to shop and think of names. I guess I don't have a choice so I will patiently wait for the next 3 weeks to go by.

Baby Bump

I am now four months along. My belly is growing more and more each day. Mike says I look more pregnant now, rather than just looking like I have gained weight. I have been feeling much better this past week. Now I am trying to get used to being hungry again. I feel like I need a snack every 2 hours or so. I am excited for the next stage. I can't wait to feel the baby and find out if it is a boy or girl.

Our Big News

We are going to have a baby!! We are so excited and can't wait for our little one to arrive. I am due in December... hopefully the baby comes before Christmas but not during finals.
